We reviewed what you need to install at the server side.
As a last post of this series, we will see how to connect server from your Ipad and how to create (convert) your webi report for your ipad.

To connect the server from your Ipad, you need to provide connection information.

Click settings button at the bottom of the screen after launch BI mobile application in the Ipad.

After you get into settings screen, click connections in the left panel.

Then you will see exactly same screen as below.

Here are short explanations of each input field.

Name: connection name, user can put any name here.

Server URL: this is the server URL with port number. URL should start with HTTP://

CMS Name: CMS server name.

Authentication: Select proper authentication method. Default value is Enterprise

Default: if its value is ON, current connection setting will be used as a default connection.
It means when you launch BI mobile application in your Ipad, it will be connected to server automatically.

User Name and password: Business Object Enterprise UserId and password.

If you provide above information correctly, you can connect your server and it will show green button with the name that you made in the initial screen.

After you connect server, you will see all available reports (or you don't have anything because it is the first time.)

If you have some report, it will be shown as below screen shot.

If the report has green 'download' button, it means it is ready for downloading. Gray button means you already downloaded it.

If you want to download the report, just click the 'download' button then it will be downloaded.

Ok, server and client is ready.

Let's see how we can create - as a matter of fact, it should be called as 'convert' if you have existing webi report - BI mobile report.

As I addressed earlier, you can do it really easily.

Only thing you need to do is 'save existing report into Mobile Category'.
(If you don't have Mobile category, you can just create it.)

After you save it as 'Mobile' category, refresh your client then you can see the new report that you just saved.

Only remaining thing is download it into your Ipad.

As you can see in the below screen shots, Webi report will be converted exactly same report for your ipad.

                                       <Webi Report>                                                      <Same report in your Ipad>

Here are more examples.

So what do you think? As I addressed earlier, is it easy enough?

Of course, BI mobile doesn't support 100% features of Webi report but please don't forget this BI mobile is the young product.
Even though Current version number is 4.1, it is only 2nd version of public release since it is announced.
Therefore, it will be improved more and more whenever new version is released.

For example, Drill down/up, annotation, integration with SUP, Multi-dimensional chart, section and home screen was added in version 4.1.
In addition, new map visualization feature was added.

Here are some screen shots of map visualization feature.
You can check data after you select one of the points of your map.

If you need more explantion with live demo, Please check below webinar that I did with Frank at last March.
Due to my laptop issue at that time, I could not demo but Frank did for all attendee.
It also will show how to create Universe for the Explorer.

As a closing comment, I would like to tell one thing.

If you have Business Object Platform and Ipad, PLEASE just try it now using a single server sandbox.
You can implement and test without any consultant for testing purpose so that you can get enough information to decide whether it is worth trying to do for your business.

One more thing, please don't forget this product is young (1 year old) and evolving in each quarter so you will see other cool features in the next quarter.

I really appreciate for all developers who are working hard for this product.

Thank you for reading.
