Be aware of the following changes concerning the SAP NetWeaver Portal space and its subspaces on SCN:

  • The space Portal was renamed into “SAP NetWeaver Portal”. In this process the URL was also changed from http://scn.sap.com/community/portal into http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver-portal.
  • Subspace “Portal Content Development” was renamed into SAP NetWeaver Portal: Administration and Development (the discussion forums on “Portal Content Development” are still available and you can continue using them, the topic “Administration” was added).
  • Subspace “Universal Worklist” was renamed into SAP NetWeaver Portal: Application Integration (the discussion forums on “Universal Worklist” are still available and can be used to discuss in general on “Portal Application Integration”).
  • Subspace “Enterprise Portal Migration” was renamed into SAP NetWeaver Portal: Migration and Upgrade (discussion forums on “Portal Migration” are still available and can be used to discuss in addition on “Portal Upgrade”).
  • Subspace “Enterprise Workspaces” was renamed into SAP NetWeaver Portal: Collaboration and Social (discussion forums on “Enterprise Workspaces” are still available and you can use the subspace to discuss in general on “Collaboration and Social” in SAP NetWeaver Portal).
  • Subspace “Portal Platform: Ajax Framework Page” was renamed into SAP NetWeaver Portal: Usability and Look & Feel (discussion forums on “Ajax Framework Page” are still available, and you use the subspace to discuss in general on “Portal Usability/Look&Feel”).
  • A new subspace “SAP on-demand Portal” was created to offer you more information on our new portal cloud offering. Be aware that it is planned to rename this subspace again according to a general product renaming for the SAP NetWeaver Cloud platform.
  • Subspace SAP NetWeaver Portal: Knowledge and Content Management is already available since some weeks and can be used by you to contribute and discuss on these important Portal topics.
  • Subspace “Portal Implementation” was merged with the main Portal space (discussion forums were migrated and you can continue using them, you can also discuss on other general Portal topics).
  • Subspace “Unification, Connectivity and Object Based Navigation” was merged with the subspace SAP NetWeaver Portal: Application Integration (discussion forums were migrated and you can continue using them in addition to other Application Integration topics).

The overviews of the new or renamed subspaces will be filled with interesting content and links in the next weeks. So please be patient when the new subspaces do not yet provide the content you expect. We are working continously on the improvement of the SAP NetWeaver Portal area since the SCN go-live.

In case we will perform additional changes you will be informed, stay tuned on the SAP NetWeaver Portal space on new SCN!

Discussions and documents are not affected by this so the on casualty is blog URLs.  Please report any you find via the abuse reports and the moderators will update the links where possible (manually).  In fact, I found your comment while searching for links that need to be updated.

And how will I find external references (outside SCN)? Currently SCN does not give content authors the possibility to see from where their blog was accessed, I guess / hope SCN can see this.

Can’t the rewrite rule not just be adjusted? It’s Apache that does the redirect, I’m sure there is a way to achieve this.

Even if external references were given, it would be up to the content owners to make the changes. (Google contains this information too, by the way.)

The same breakage occurs when people move their blogs between spaces.  Yes, Apache performing the redirect is one solution but is a very tedious one. (I’ve done lots of it and it’s not fun nor nimble enough, never mind the effort required to catch all the movements generated by thousands of user.)

A solution is in work to address this whereas a look-up will search for the blog elsewhere. It’s been prioritized with all other projects outstanding.

Unfortunately the answer is no. However, getting content to surface in other relevant spaces is one of our feature requests that we’re working on (no time frame specified).

Saw this and forum finder as well but every time I need to go to that page from browser book mark is really tough. It would be good If you provide this link access directly from any space or any good UI to directly choose other spaces from any particular space is nice.

Please check this possibility as it became really tough, not at all user friendly as per my view.
