Learn how manufacturers can Adapt, Operate, Collaborate and Decide BETTER in challenging times @ SAPPHIRE NOW – 2012

SAPPHIRE NOW is coming up NEXT WEEK and we are excited to share information about this upcoming Sapphire at Orlando from May 14 to 16, 2012. SAP applications and solutions are showcased as part of ‘RUN BETTER’ campus along with core technologies(Mobility, Cloud, and HANA). LOB Manufacturing is actively participating and showcasing manufacturing solutions at the Sapphire. We are very excited about the contents that are being incorporated across the event. We do like to share with you about the contents, customers participating and presenting at the event, partner programs, special interest activity, and various other exciting manufacturing activities planned for this upcoming sapphire

Customer success story

This year, we have many manufacturing customers with well-known brands presenting at our Sapphire event. Well known household brand HERSHEY’S will discuss about their success story on how they improved operational efficiency and increased visibility across manufacturing network using SAP manufacturing solutions. If you are interested in knowing how our customers are achieving manufacturing excellence by synchronizing manufacturing with enterprise business processes, you should not miss the theater session by well know chemical manufacturer – FMC Corp.

There will also be a panel discussion with our 3 SAP customers. The panel is moderated by SAP and includes high powered customers – 1) Titanium metals, a global industrial metals company 2) Kennametal, a global machine tools and accessories company and 3)Endicott Interconnect – high tech manufacturing company. The panel discussion will be focused on how manufacturers can achieve sustainable, responsive and efficient production operations.

Micro-forums

As before, micro-forums are the platforms where various industry challenges and SAP solutions  are discussed in detail. Some of these micro-forums are supported by SAP customers. There are 5 manufacturing focused micro-forums spread across different days.  This year, micro-forum topics do include new exciting technologies like mobility and visual manufacturing. Other topics include sessions focused on SAP manufacturing solutions for high-tech, Quality management and CAMS(complex assembly manufacturing system)

Demo theater

Unlike last year, SAP is including more visuals to showcase our new solutions. As part of that strategy, we have introduced new Demo sessions. These are 40 mins session with 30-40 people. New manufacturing technologies that are being showcased include ‘Visual manufacturing’ and ‘Integrated manufacturing solutions’. Integrated manufacturing solutions demo includes all the solutions(ME, MII, Pco) and benefits of integrating manufacturing with enterprise business processes.

Special Interest Activity(SIA)

A Special breakfast session is scheduled for customers on Tuesday, May 15th. This is a cross topic LoB session for Mfg, PLM, Supply Chain and Sustainability with speakers from Hershey’s and Sylco. Customers could be invited to this special breakfast event through the CCT tool

ASUG User Conference

At our ASUG user conference, co-located with SAPPHIRE NOW, we also have a full agenda of customer and SAP expert speakers. The packed agenda also include educational sessions and presentations by FMC on batch manufacturing, Conair on ‘how to optimize outsourced manufacturing using SNC’, and Triquint on ‘Getting started with SAP MII’. If you are looking for educational sessions and presentations on SAP manufacturing solutions, mobility and quality management as applied to manufacturing, there are many related sessions in ASUG user conference.

So, this year Sapphire NOW and ASUG are an ideal places for manufacturing and operations executives among our existing customers base or new prospects.  Many of our manufacturing solutions are showcased powered by mobility, HANA, Cloud and visual enterprise technologies. This are ideal events to network and meet with industry peers understating various challenges, trends, and solutions in the industry.
