Are you already excited for SAPPHIRE NOW from Orlando this year? I really am. When I got the opportunity to be the social ambassador for the whole Database and Technology (D&T) Campus I thought this is the most fun job I could have imagined for myself at the conference, plus I’ve never been to SAPPHIRE NOW, so I’m even more excited to be actively participating this year.
And I can tell you that the D&T campus has lots to offer this year. The campus features several topic areas including:
- SAP HANA and Data Warehousing
- Enterprise Information Management
- SAP Technology Platform
- Sybase ASE and other Sybase Solutions
And I have the fun task to not only be reporting live with my ambassador handle (@D_Sieber) during SAPPHIRE NOW but also giving you a sneak preview of what’s happening on the show floor.
SAP HANA & Data Warehousing
We will have many SAP HANA activities but I want to highlight three that I’m very excited about. First, you will be able to try SAP HANA yourself in the test drive area. Nowadays you can test drive more than cars and it’s a lot of fun. Make sure you pass by. For more details please read the pre-SAPPHIRE NOW blog. This brings me to my second highlight: Jeff Word is writing a SAP HANA Essentials Book right now which will be published during SAPPHIRE NOW Orlando 2012 and the best part about it: You will be able to download it for free online at www.saphanabook.com (going live on May 14, 2012). The twitter handles @D_Sieber and @SAPInMemory will tweet voucher codes for downloading the book. Third, we have some great startups on board that will present demos of their solutions on SAP HANA, stay tuned on sneak previews in their upcoming blogs starting today with NextPrinciples.
Enterprise Information Management
EIM has a lot of great sessions and demos waiting for you in the D&T campus. First, customers will join us and talk about their success story, such as Johnson Controls, Inc. who will discuss how they improved corporate decision making with better information governance or how National Vision improved their data quality which resulted in better business outcomes. Second, we have some great demo stations where you can experience how better information governance can have huge impact for your business. Third, you can now understand the big picture of SAP’s EIM offerings and explore step-by-step instructions for working with SAP Data Services with the new EIM Book that will be available for sale at the SAPPHIRE NOW conference in Orlando. SAP Technology Platform
Our technology team has some interesting activities planned as well. Therefore, you should definitely stop by to see a demo of SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration, which enhances business process management, process integration, and rules management. In addition, you can stay tuned for some great customer stories on NetWeaver Process Orchestration and there will be plenty of sessions and discussion tables where you can learn how SAP Software enhances user experience and hear more about the role of complex event processing in enterprise architecture, including real-life use cases such as situation detection, automated response, stream transformation, and continuous intelligence.
Sybase ASE and other Sybase Solutions
Our Sybase Experts will wait for you on the D&T campus and you will be able to learn more about why SAP applications should run on Sybase ASE and see how SAP successfully migrated towards Sybase ASE. In addition, there will be Microforums and demos featuring ‘SAP BusinessObjects BI with Sybase IQ’, ‘How a Telecom network can be powered with complex event processing software’ and ‘How big data can be turned into business value’.

In addition to our expert sessions, we will have lots of social activities happening on our campus.
