John Krakowski, SAP, provided this ASUG webcast earlier this month.  This part of the webcast focuses on IT Infrastructure Management.  Since this is planned functionality, things are subject to change.

Integrated with the Incident and Problem Management, is the need to  have a fully functioning CMDB (change management database) capability.

SAP will be offering a separate price list item SAP IT Infrastructure management with integration into incident and problem areas

As figure 2 shows, this will allow full and in-depth modeling, with integration into ITSM, integration into E2E monitoring and alerting.

As you adopt and configure E2E and incident and problem and you have the option to take advantage of infrastructure management, according to John.

As Figure 3 shows, impact analysis starts with an Incident, the assignment block has an infrastructure object ID, leading you to the Configuration ID, leading you to the landscape browser and presented in an Infrastructure graphic.

It is the only CMDB tool with integration into the incident and problem side of Solution Manager.

IT Infrastructure assets are available in your inbox with a graphic view of these devices, viewing the network adapters and storage devices

You can drill into the alerts as shown in Figure 5.  Figure 5 shows a centralized alert inbox.

The configuration for alerting manager is part of SOLMAN_SETUP

Figure 6 shows a list of mobile applications planned for SP05 including incident management, end user experience monitoring, system monitoring, IT change approval.

IT Incident Management and Change Approval will be iOS

End user experience and system monitoring will be iOS and Android supported

    Hello Tammy,

    once again many thanks for the great blog!

    Do you have more information regarding the “license model” of ITIM?

    I have heared that SAP will provide ITIM for SAP Enterprise Support customers free of charge.

    Can you confirm or deny this information?

      I will have to go listen at the end of the recording and include it in another blog.  I think I asked that question too.  I recall the response was to reach out to your SAP Account Executive.

        Hi Tammy,

        Thank you very much for this info. I was waiting to get more information on this integration. I showed your blog to my customer and we are both wondering if we could have the integration with the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), the infrastructure object ID and the Configuration ID, also in the Request for Change and General Change in ChaRM, since they do not use Incident Management in SolMan. I didn’t see it in details in the screen slides as shown for Incident, but it’s mentioned in Figure 2, so I believe it’s possible. That will solve one of our problems. Can you confirm?

        Just like Alex, we are still trying to find out with SAP (since we heard about this integration in Feb…) some clarifications about the price list, how it will be charged, if so, to Enterprise Support and Max Attention Customers. We could not have this answer yet from the SAP Account Executive.

      Hi Alex,

      Based on what I read in an article by Dr. Matthias Melich, Vice President of ALM Solution Management, SAP IT Infrastructure Management is not included in SAP Enterprise Support, but it is a separate solution extension to SAP Solution Manager. I am still trying to get more info about it, but I don’t think it will be free of charge.
