We have seen how the text can flow from customer master to sales document header and sale document header to delivery and so on and so forth.

But today I am going to tell how we can make the text to flow from sales document header to sales document item data. Of course I did it for one of our colleague and thought to put this on the blog, so as to make it available for every member of our community.

So lets start configuring the text to flow from Sales document header to Sales document Item

1. At sales document header level.

Maintain text id suppose it is 55

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/1txt_93824.png

Maintain access sequence – suppose it is 55

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/1txt_93824.png

now maintain text id in access sequence which should look like the following

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/2_93826.png

now create procedure 55 as below in picture

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/3_93827.png

now text id in procedure

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/4_93828.png

now do the txt procedure assignment to sales document type as I did

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/5_93829.png

so till now we were doing the configuration part for the sales document header.

From here which is a crucial part for Sales document item, do it as it is and you can see the result.

Create you text id by placing radio button on sales document item.

as follows and remember you are now doing in VBBP and earlier you were doing in VBBK

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/6_93833.png

now go to change in votxn with radiobutton still on the sales document item and create your Access sequence for sales document item as follows:

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/7_93834.png

now again create text id in access sequence 56 as follows:

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/8_93835.png

now create your procedure for sales document item as follows:

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/9_93839.png

now again place text id in procedure as follows but remember this is crucial step as you should not put any tick mark in the reference, because if you reference it will not copy here in this case from header to item and you should put your access sequence which you made for sales document item as 56

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/10_93840.png

the last step for the configuration is text procedure assignment to your item category as follows:

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/11_93841.png

Now lets test it by creating a sales order and entering the text at header level as follows:

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/12_93842.png

Now lets see this in item level, as follows:

/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/13_93843.png

So now you can see how the text is flowing from customer master to sales document header and sales document header to sales document item.

    Hi Sridhar,

How the met the same requirement as above, but in this new case, the sales order is created with reference to a quotation?

Maybe, in this new case VBBK shall be the text in header of (the preceeding document) the quotation and not of the sales order.

    Thank you for your blog!

      Hello TT,

The text is flowing from customer master to sales order header, and sales document header to sales document item, but what is your new requirement I could not guess properly.

    Hi !!

Really good document for freshers , well what is the requirement to copy text from sales header to item…i mean , when in same sales document the text is available at header level than what is the need to bring the text to item level from business point of view.. what would be the business requirement ?

i would really appreciate if sap gurus can give one example from business point of view..

    Thanks & Regards,

    ash
