Dear Portal Evangelists,
Today I would like to start a series of blogs about one of the most exciting new capabilities of the SAP NetWeaver Portal (since the release of SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3).
As you might have already heard (and if not, you will learn about it now), with the upcoming release of the SAP NetWeaver Portal you will be able to consume your existing SAP NetWeaver Portal into different devices - mobile and non-mobile.
So where can you get it from and in which release?
- With SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 SP5, we have taken the first step to enable all the portal services (i.e. navigation, search, favorites, etc.) as public API’s. This approach empowers each and every customer to develop his own framework page (PC, smartphone or tablet) based of the AJAX Framework Page portal infrastructure. This approach can be easily achieved with the code samples already available on the Code Exchange community.
- These days, with the release of SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 SP7, we have released the second phase of consuming the portal into different devices. A new out-of-the-box smartphone framework page is now available.
