Our biggest idea trends are upon us, namely, Mobility; Big Data and Cloud.
SAP HANA introduces us to Big Data concepts, while the brand new EPM 10 application for the iPad gives way to mobility in the EPM space. These revolutions in how EPM solutions are mapped present consultants with temporary knowledge gaps.
Firslty, BW 7.3 and PAK leveraging FOX and IP technology is slowly moving closer to the BPC toolset. Taking this a step further, BW 7.3 can be stacked upon a HANA DB layer, making the HANA appliance a feasible work engine for the granularity of planning I see the market demanding.
Lastly, I cannot think of any boardmember who wouldn't want their monthly indicators presented as a tablet friendly dashboard. Currently, educational material and literature are presented in a stream of knowledge particular to a single one of the aforementioned. I would love to be able to cherry pick and select the low hanging fruit which is pertinent to BPC alone. A single course, covering everything that is neccessary on each platform but relevant to BPC alone. Allowing for greater specialisation and stronger implemented solutions.
