Shortcut to Discussions (Forum) Threads

Here’s a quick and easy way to access the New SCN discussions:

  1. Log in to SCN
  2. Go to address http://scn.sap.com/threads

If you’re already logged in when you do this, the first thing you’ll see are the discussion threads you’ve authored. From here you can apply additional filters to sort further. From the left column you can filter by:

  • Drafts
  • Authored (Default)
  • Participated (Where you’ve replied)
  • Following (Threads in spaces you’re following)
  • Recently Viewed
  • Jive Genius (Trending threads)
  • All

You can further refine these by a second set of filters immediately above the listed threads: All, Open Questions, Answered Questions,…

New SCN Discussion Filters - Level 2.jpg

Besides the convenience of an easy to remember URL (scn.sap.com/threads), this should be a more familiar way to get an overview of what’s currently happening in the SCN discussions (forums).

❗ And remember to always use the right content type or your content might get deleted: use discussions for your forum/queries, blogs for blogs, and documents for articles and guides and how to material.

      Thanks Jason.

      The overall look and feel of the new SCN is great and I have been trying to get comfortable with this new site for the last 2 days but still have one big issue...

      I have saved URL's for all threads on the old SDN site which somehow now don't "redirect" me to the actual thread on this new SCN site.

      Is there any way to access the threads on the old SDN site if we have the saved URL's of the threads?

      When I click on the URL of the threads from my favorites in the IE,the URL shown is http://scn.sap.com/welcome?messageID=XXXXXXX where XXXXX is the actual thread ID on the old SDN site and now it redirects me to the "SCN" home page.

      Appreciate if you can help me access my old "SDN" threads on this new "SCN" site.

      Thanks!

      Thanks for the feedback! The look and feel is great but the features and tools are even more exciting: so much to discover!

      About the redirects...When an old forum redirect gets you stuck, you un-stuck it like this:

           http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4150844 -->

           http://scn.sap.com/welcome?messageID=4150844 -->

           http://scn.sap.com/message/4150844

      Hope this helps you and sorry for the trouble: I'm already working on solving this particular redirect since last week.

      Thanks Jason.

      But the redirect seems to be working now.The URL is now http://scn.sap.com/thread/XXXXXXX.

      For some of the links the redirect doesnt work as the threads are deleted.
