Loading Custom Languages
Introduction
Sometimes, there arises a need where we need to add a custom language to SAP. This may not necessarily be used as an SAP Logon Language. But in Scenarios of SAP HCM, various employees belong to different Nationalities, and a need arises to maintain their languages in the Personal Data Infotype.
Step by Step procedure to add Custom Languages
Adding a language Z5 (Sanskrit).
Step: I
Run the program: RSCPCOLA. The screen we get is as follows.
Press F4 on the correspondence Language entry (highlighted below).
In our case, we selected Z5 and then enter the New Language Name as Sanskrit.
Step: II
Select a Master Language. In our case, we shall select the Language as EN and then click on Assign.
On Clicking Assign, a pop up window comes to confirm the addition of the language. Select Yes.
Another Confirmation window comes up, on which we need to click on Continue.
After clicking on Continue, the language Z5 appears on the currently installed correspondence languages list as shown below:
Step: III
Execute the Program: RSCPINST and select the newly added language from the list arising on F4 help of Language Key.
Click on Activate Button.
A popup is shown, and on this, click on Yes.
The Newly added language will be shown on the list.
On executing the Program again, the added language will be shown on the list as below:
The Language is now added to the table, and this will be shown for the search help for Language keys.
SCENARIO
In our scenario, the need was to add the language to the table so that this could be selected in the Infotype screen PA30 for Infotype 0002 ( Personal Data ).
Infotype 0002 Screen will have the newly added language as shown below:
As shown above, the language added, is shown in the list.
