Why the new iPad will be even better for business?

In just over two years the iPad has quickly become the tablet of choice for executives and business users. Last week Apple announced the “new” iPad, watch the keynote here. The new tablet will offer a number of enhancements which will be particularly beneficial to business users when it comes to the 3rd most important use case for mobile workers, mobile business intelligence. Here are a few of the killer combos for the new iPad, business intelligence, and in-memory computing.

Killer Combo #1:

Enhanced Data Visualizations – The new high resolution graphics the iPad will take data visualization to the next level.  The new A5X chip and quad core graphics will make data navigation and advanced analytics feel even faster and smoother. The new Retina Display, the highest display ever on a mobile device will take Mobile BI apps like SAP BusinessObjects Explorer and Exploration Views to the next level, offering business users a truly immersive data experience. The visual enhancements will also be more suited for 3D visualizations. With the 2048 x 1536 display which is 4x the original iPad, prototype demos like this SAP Right Hemisphere 3D x-ray will bring a whole new level of visual interactivity. The enhancements to the device camera will also advance capabilities like SAP BusinessObjects Explorer augmented reality to overlay data visually on a map or with the device camera.

Killer combo #2:

Extreme Speed – With faster processing speeds the new iPad will handle visualizations of large data volumes instantly. Business users will be able to quickly connect, search and explore massive amounts of data with SAP HANA, SAP’s in-memory computing solution. The speed of the 4G LTE wireless will also assist in the device experience for speed of data consumption.
