Manage service connection from Solution Manager 7.1

In this blog I explain how to manage your service connection from Solution Manager 7.1.

It will discuss what you need to do in order to open/ close the connection and to allow the system access.

Many customers which want to open service connection to SAP do it from OSS (Sap web site)

New functionality in the Solution Manager 7.1 is that you can open service connection for the solution, and manage your system access from the system.

This feather was available in Solution Manager 7.0.

So how did I do it?

How to navigate to service connection screen

First we login to the Solution Manager and go to work center transaction Solman_workcenter.

Go to work center – Solution Manager Administration.

 In the overview screen we go to solution.

We mark the solution that we want to open the connection and click on Service connection


A popup window will open now

Here we can open close new connection navigate to system access, open the connection to Solution Manager, use in SolMan Diagnostic.


Open new Service connection

To open new connection go to create setup click your service connection type

List of Servers

The server list contains all the servers associated to the system

Maintain Saprouter Data

You can only select a router that has been registered for your company at SAP

Maintain Contact Person

Here you have to select a contact person for SAP
