Which SAP on-demand portal scenario best fits your organization?

The On Demand portal (ODP) solution was initiated based on customers increasing demand for cloud-based solutions, combined with customers’ requirement for a lean portal which can be up and running rapidly.

Main goals defined for on demand portal:

Goal I: Provide business users an easy and pleasant experience for creating and managing a business site which can be consumed on the device of the choice, fully enabled with social and collaboration capabilities.

Goal II: Provide IT with a cloud-based portal solution that allows secured and reliable backend connectivity, flexibility and manageability.

Goal III: Provide partner and customer developers with an open standards-based development model for gadgets and portal customization.

What scenarios can be valuable for customers, partners or SAP stakeholders targeting for a cloud-based portal solution?

Based on discussions we had with customers, partners and SAP stakeholders we’ve defined several scenarios that represent real use cases. Some of these will be implemented as part of our beta program. You can find below a summary of the proposed scenarios:

In this project we give a high priority to early involvement of customers in the development process. We’re now initiating a Design Partner Council (DPC) for customers and partners who are interested in learning more about our on demand portal solution. By participating in the Design Partner Council you will get the opportunity to influence future development of the product, provide feedback on design topics directly to the product team and in addition share ideas, solutions and best practices within an ecosystem of similar SAP customers and partners. The forum will meet on a monthly basis. In these meetings we plan to share demos, preview future planning and get your feedback on the discussed topics.
