SAP’s take on European Cloud Partnership

SAP’s take on European Cloud Partnership

January 26, 2012 by Sven Denecken

Below you will find a short reaction from SAP on the initiative to establish an european Cloud partnership, from Peter Lorenz, SAP Corporate Officer and EVP for OnDemand Solutions

We very much welcome the initiative of the EU Vice President in Davos to establish an European Cloud Partnership, bringing governments and industries together to advance cloud computing in Europe. We also fully support the initial focus of the partnership to promote the adoption of Cloud Computing in the public sector. It is our firm belief that Cloud Computing can not only significantly reduce IT costs and improve the performance of the public sector.A rapid and wide adoption of Cloud services in the public sector can also drive overall market penetration of Cloud Computing in Europe across companies large to small. At SAP we are convinced that Cloud is a global core topic and we are fully committed to contributing our know-how and expertise to ensure a successful European Cloud partnership together with CIOs and the public sector in member states. Jointly we should also be able to enhance the practical work of achieving a Digital Single Market for Cloud services and we are looking very much forward to additional elements of the EU Cloud Strategy.
