The expectation on the business side for faster implementations to get instant value from SAP systems is going up significantly. With it, the pressure on the IT teams to meet those business needs by implementing SAP solutions is also increasing. There is a perfect solution from my perspective which are called SAP Rapid Deployment Solutions. The rapid-deployment solutions combine SAP software, fixed price services, pre configuration and very powerful implementation accelerators. Together, they are designed to lower the risk of business management implementations against missed expectations for cost, implementation time, business results, and “future proofing” the business against technology obsolescence.
Implementations are significantly faster. For example, SAP CRM (solutions for Sales, Service, or Marketing) implementations are being completed in just 6-8 weeks instead of several months, reducing as a consequence the associated operational risks to deliver the project. In general for SAP Rapid Deployment solutions, we are talking about implementation time lines in less than 12 weeks, usually. We did this (at SAP) with the implementation ofSAP ERP rapid-deployment solution for profitability analysis with SAP HANA, which as a part of the ERP system provides a profitability calculation which can be done in a couple of weeks due to the RDS package. Overall, RDS helps SAP Global IT andend customersto go live with SAP solutions faster than ever before. RDS not only covers the core solution components such as SRM, CRM ERP, but also helps the customer take advantage of the latest technologies and innovations, for example Analytics, in-memory solutions as part of SAP HANA, mobility as well.
