What are Marketing Permissions?

Marketing permissions control that customers are contacted only via those communication channels for which they explicitly gave their consent. The concept of Marketing Permissions enables SAP CRM marketing processes to be designated as Opt-In or Opt-Out processes. Existing concepts used to block contact to customers are still available. Marketing Permissions is provided in addition to these.

Marketing permissions are available from release SAP CRM 2007. For details see the Note 1574230.

How can I use Marketing Permissions in Call Lists?

During call list generation you can now activate a preliminary marketing permission check for accounts and contacts and thus avoid creating unnecessary calls and corresponding business transactions.

In call list maintenance you can check marketing permissions within the functions Update Contact Persons and Synchronize with CTI.

In manual call list execution only permitted phone numbers are provided for accounts and contacts.

In automated call list execution only permitted phone numbers from accounts are transferred through the CTI.

Calls are set to the status Completed with the call result Skipped (Marketing Permissions) if no permitted phone number is available.
