Business Scenario

Requirement :- To generate load files at Business Objects Data Services, by taking the source data from Legacy System and performing the required tranformation. The Final Load files need to be uploaded to the Target (1-SAP -systems) using load Mechanisim LSMW, BAPI & IDOC.

AIM:- To consolidate the data from different source systems (Legacy System ,RDBMS, Third Party source) into a single Target System (1 –SAP) after performing the required cleansing and Transformation for the source field data.

Schema (Data Stores)

1)      BOA (Back Office Associates) used for cleansing and preparation for 1 SAP Data

2)      ALL (ALL Schema used for maintaining data and Table from SAP -legacy system)

3)      MAP (Mapping Tables Schema)

4)      TAR (Temporary Transformation Schema maintained at BODS)

5)      RTL (Ready To Load Table Schema maintaines at BODS)

6)      VAL (Validation Schema)

Description / ETL Steps

1)      Extract the data from the source systems and load the extracted data into BOA/MAP/ALL Schemas

i)                    Load the Data from the Legacy systems at ALL schema

ii)                   Load the Data from the RDBMS /Third Party source system at BOA Schema

iii)                 Load all the Mapping Tables into MAP Schema.

2)      Take the required Tables from BOA/MAP/ALL Schema into TAR Schema at BOBJDS and perform all the required transformation and Mapping logic to create Temporary Tables at TAR (Transformation) schema.

3)      Now perform the Pre-load validation by having the source as the TAR Tables or some source system extracted Tables and load the corresponding data into the VAL schema in  3 sub Division structure

i)                    Valid Record Table :- To load the valid records

ii)                   In- Valid Records Table :- To load the In- valid records

iii)                 Summary Table: – To capture the error information.

4)      Finally Map the TAR table to Temp Table structures created at RTL schema (Ready to Load Schema) through a direct mapping .We can create a output file as well depending on the requirement of the load system Mechanism by creating a Flat File and mapping the RTL Tables through a Query Transform.

5)      Finally the required load files will be loaded to the Target (1 –SAP) through a load Mechanism (LSMW,BAPI,IDOC)

6)      For Post Load validation we would be required to extract the Table from the Target System and compare the Data content with the Ready to Load Tables to check the correctness of the Loaded Data (Field Check & Count Check).

The Post load validation rules check will be captured at the following Tables in VAL schema.

i)                    Valid Record Table :- To load the valid records

ii)                   In- Valid Records Table :- To load the In- valid records

iii)                 Summary Table: – To capture the error information.
