Overview

SAP NetWeaver Landscape Virtualization Management provides a central point of control for flexibly assigning computing resources and managing application services in the system landscape. It is built on four key principles, Unified, Complete, Simplified, and Automated. Let us explain these briefly.

Unified – Reduce the time and effort to transition to virtual and cloud environments by:

  • Decoupling the application from the underlying infrastructure;
  • Providing a unified view and management of the hardware, software, and virtualization layers
  • Automating system relocation.

Complete – Improve your ability to respond to business needs with support for configuring, deploying, monitoring, and managing your SAP systems and landscapes in both physical and virtualized infrastructures, providing you more infrastructure options and faster time to value.

Simplified –  Simplify the management of SAP landscapes by:

  • Hiding the technical complexities of physical and virtualized infrastructures from day to day operations
  • (Enterprise edition only)Automating capacity management and other key functions
  • (Enterprise edition only)Providing end-to-end visibility of your systems.

Automated

  • Reduce the capital investment and operational costs (TCO) of your SAP systems with capabilities with a built-in task planner
  • Leveraging virtualization to reduce your hardware requirements and improve resource utilization.
  • (Enterprise edition only) Simplify and automate the system copy, clone, and refresh operations
