Skills for SAP PI developers

The year is comming to an end and it is about time to figure out what to learn in the next year.

I wanted to share some of my ideas on which skills you need to have to a good SAP PI developer in 2012. Select the video bellow to see what I believe is the skills you need.

I also want to hear about which skills you find most interesting to have and want to have in the new year. If you have 3 minutes please help with a short survey about what you see as the most important skills. The survey can also be found here http://app.getresponse.com/survey.html?survey_id=9626

I’ll be sharing the results of the survey at SDN sometime in January, when I have had time to evaluate the results.

I really believe that communication is the key to any good technical skill set.  I am not so sure about BPM.  We do not use it here.  So I do not see that as a huge deal next year.

My second skill set that I would like a PI developer to have - myself when I am doing PI development - is understanding the integration points.  The integration with SAP and perhaps - in my case - the integration with the 3rd party vendor.

Third - understand how to support the solution.

I really liked the survey, and cannot wait for the results.

      Happy Holidays!

      Hi Michelle,

Supporting the solution is one that I love. Well I do hate doing the support, but it is somehting that is really important an somethign that you need to master in a good way.
