The online workshop series will be taught in a train-the-trainer format to ensure participants are familiar with SAP functionality being introduced as well as best practices for successful use in their own classes. Each of the sessions will be recorded. Hands-on exercises will be completed between lectures and questions / discussion will occur via discussion threads. Workshop content is developed and delivered by professors active in the program. There is no cost to attend the online workshop series, however each participant MUST register in advance. The number of online sessions vary by topic, plan to attend all class meetings.

SAP NetWeaveru00AE 7.3 New Curriculum

SAP NetWeaver is the platform that provides the shared technology foundation for SAP business applications. The May 2011 release of SAP NetWeaver 7.3 enables faster adaptation, better integration, and increased operational efficiency. In addition to offering a completely revised user interface (which utilizes Ajax), a number of new tools were added including Wikis, Forums, and Web page composer. This online workshop will provide an overview of the new SAP NetWeaver Portal, SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer, enterprise services, and business analytics. The four 2-hour sessions will cover a sub-set of the material presented in the normal 4-day workshop. Successful completion of this online workshop will allow you to join the “SAP NetWeaver 7.3 beta user group” and gain access to both the new curriculum and the new product.

This online workshop is for University Alliances member professors with a technical interest, teaching in areas such as MIS, Computer Science, CIS, and IT. The online workshop will include lectures, Q&A, and demos. Participants will be given projects to work on between the sessions.

Teaching Supply Chain and Operations Management Using SAP ERP

This online workshop introduces faculty to course materials appropriate for use in two distinct levels of operations and supply chain management courses. The focus of the workshop is a set of exercises intended for students in an operations planning and control course. A conceptual understanding of time series forecasting, sales and operations planning, master scheduling, material requirements planning, capacity planning, and the purchasing cycle is desired to maximize the usefulness of the exercises. An additional set of exercises oriented towards students in an introductory operations or supply chain management course will also be covered. Both sets of exercises use the Global Bike 2.0 dataset in SAP ERP.

This introductory course is designed for new as well as experienced faculty in the SAP University Alliances program who want to better understand the On-demand ERP solution from SAP. The workshop introduces SAP Business ByDesign for small and mid-size enterprises. This Software as a Service (SaaS) solution has an easy to use, intuitive user interface which is ideal to use in an introductory course in IS, BPM and ERP. The topics covered include user interface, role based approach to BPM, hands-on overview of business process, self learning resources, embedded analytics and mobile apps.
