72 hours, 50 developers, 2 countries, 1 Fast Train. The SAP Train Race is just over, which was an unforgettable event for the 12 teams from the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, United States, India, and Japan. It started November 4th in Paris with a one day, immersive training event focused on SAP NetWeaver Gateway as well as Adobe and Microsoft technologies. After the training teams left on November 6th for Madrid by a fast train and had the opportunity to build applications in train carriage with the help of SMEs from SAP and partners. Once arrived in Madrid, the best SAP Netweaver Gateway application was determined by a panel of judges and the winner was Capgemini team.

The three-day training session and competition, organized by Somya Kapoor from SAP, was designed to showcase the development prowess of the SAP NetWeaver Gateway platform.

Over the course of a long weekend, the 12 teams demonstrated that a small team of agile developers can code on the go and build an application in train carriage just as easily as in a cubicle. During the interviews participants described the event as “crazy”, “absolutely cool”, “out of box”,” innovative”, “truly amazing”!
