My team got back together to work on updating the successful book on Interactive Forms. We completely worked through the book and updated it to cover additions in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP2. We also added two brand-new chapters to cover the ABAP Offline Infrastructure and a chapter on advanced configuration that covers setting up a secured ADS connection. We added more than 100+ new pages what makes this a 700+ pages book.

Here are the links to SAP Press pages for the book.

Chapter 6 was updated to also cover parallelization of print jobs to improve performance. Chapter 5 and 7 use Designer 8.2 now and for chapter 7 a sample covering conditional page breaks and more scripting examples were added. Chapter 8 refers to enhancements of the Web Dynpro ABAP integration of Interactive Forms. Chapter 9 was updated to describe the latest additions to ISR. Chapter 12, describing Offline Scenarios via Web Services, was update to also cover the support of secured Web Services.

The following two chapters are brand-new:

Chapter 10, ABAP Offline Infrastructure, introduces the implementation of offline scenarios in ABAP. An example describes the configuration of the infrastructure. The infrastructure is based on the interface concepts and the print program. For the processing, an offline handler needs to be programmed. To reproduce the example, you need Business Communication Services.

Chapter 13, Advanced Installation and Configuration, discusses advanced configuration and installation topics. Among other things, you learn how to configure a secure connection for ADS. This chapter also introduces the XDC Editor as well as the creation and management of job profiles.
