Update on Browser Support for Mozilla Firefox
Higher Education customers worldwide will be interested to hear the following update on the SAP browser support strategy:
SAP is planning to have Firefox 6.0 supported by SAP by the end of September.
Based on the feedback customers provided during the Higher Education and Research Advisory Council (HERAC) and Higher Education and Research User Group (HERUG) meetings in Maastricht, SAP is intending to adopt the new Mozilla Release policy to close the time gap between the release of a new Firefox version and SAP’s support for this version.
The current Firefox version supported by Mozilla will also be supported by SAP. Mozilla automatically defines „end of life“ for predecessor releases of Firefox. SAP will adopt this process and terminate support of predecessor releases as well. Exceptions will be communicated explicitly (i.e..Firefox 3.6 or limitations in certain applications). Support for browsers can be checked by SAP product using the Product Availability Matrix. Exceptions (i.e. for a limited number of applications not inheriting the SAP NetWeaver browser support strategy) will also be maintained in the Product Availability Matrix.
