Business Intelligence, BusinessObjects, and Enterprise Information Management Users: SAP Invites Your Input
The ASUG BusinessObjects User Conference will be held next month, October 9-12th in Orlando Florida. This conference is for platform agnostic BusinessObjects customers.
The ASUG Influence Council sessions are planned to be interactive and discussion-oriented, and some will include presentations from SAP about future product and roadmap direction. This is a unique opportunity for you to give feedback to SAP about current product development and help SAP set a strategy for the future. SAP welcomes input from all experienced users at these sessions, so make your voice heard.
Business Intelligence/Enterprise Information Management Influence Sessions Planned Are:
Join the SAP dashboards solution product management team (SAP’s Scott Leaver and Francois Imberton) to review and discuss the new features planned in the 2011 and 2012 releases, including enhanced performance, simplified authoring, support for hierarchies, scheduling, and much more. This highly interactive session (open discussion) will focus on 2 things:
1) Providing an overview of the broader product roadmap, priorities, and how the product fits into the client portfolio today and into the future.
2) Providing a platform for an open discussion on our roadmap and priorities that will give participants an opportunity to provide input and feedback. Importantly, participants will discuss and share ideas with each other and SAP to help validate and influence our product strategy.
Join Jason Olson, Kimberly-Clark Corp. and SAP’s Saurabh Abhyankar for this highly interactive session (open discussion) will have two agenda items. The first item will focus on providing an overview of the broader product roadmap, priorities, and how the product fits into the broader analysis client portfolio today and into the future. The second and most substantive item will be an open discussion on the roadmap and priorities that will give participants an opportunity to provide input and feedback on the product strategy. Importantly, participants will discuss and share ideas with each other and SAP to help validate and influence our product strategy.
Join SAP Mentor and ASUG Volunteer Derek Loranca and SAP’s Pierpaolo Vezzosi for this session. Influence is one of the key tenets of ASUG. The Semantic Layer/Universe Influence Council will provide an update on its progress and upcoming plans. But the important part of this meeting is you! This is a chance for those who build and use a ‘universe’ to bring their ideas and comments directly to the Influence Council and SAP. Come and bring your ideas, comments, and concerns about the universe designer. This is your chance to have your voice heard on product features and direction.
Join SAP’s Mandeep Jassal for this session. The SAP Crystal Reports and Enterprise Reporting Influence Council is intended to represent the collective customer voice regarding the future solution enhancement direction of the SAP Crystal Reports software product lines and also to provide input and direction to the overall solution set for enterprise reporting. The group will review proposed enhancements for the next major release of the product, SAP Crystal Reports 2012, with the intent of helping shape those enhancements. The group will also review a number of selected minor release enhancements and contribute to the overall vision driving the next generation of the SAP Crystal Reports product line.
Join SAP’s Ian Mayor for an update on this council. This council has been looking at the backlog for Analysis and to the future with Analysis OLAP as a replacement for Voyager.

After wrapping up a successful SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise & Administration Influence Council earlier this year, a new council has been formed and is gearing up to help shape the future versions of SAP BusinessObjects. This session will provide an update to the public on the current council’s status. More importantly, this is an ‘open’ session, where SAP and ASUG council members will be present to take down the communities ideas for enhancements and features in future releases of the tool. If you are looking for the opportunity to have SAP hear your voice on the SAP BusinessObjects enterprise solutions platform, then this is the session to attend.
This active Influence Council addresses SAP BusinessObjects products, including SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator, SAP BusinessObjects Data Quality Management, SAP BusinessObjects Information Steward, SAP BusinessObjects Data Federator, SAP® BusinessObjects™ Rapid Marts®, and SAP BusinessObjects Text Analysis. The Influence Council provides the SAP BusinessObjects solution management team with feedback about strategy and direction, proposed changes, integrations, or new features in future releases. Although master data management is also part of the SAP information management portfolio, that group has its own ASUG Influence Council: the Master Data Management Influence Council.
This highly interactive session (open discussion) will have two agenda items. The first item will focus providing an overview of the broader product roadmap, priorities, and how the product migration fits into the broader analysis client portfolio today and into the future. The second, and most substantive item will be an open discussion on the roadmap and priorities that will give participants an opportunity to provide input and feedback on the product migration strategy. Importantly, participants will discuss and share ideas with each other and SAP to help validate and influence our product migration strategy.
Influence is the hallmark of ASUG. SAP’s product management (SAP’s Megan Mittler) wants to hear your ideas on how to incorporate education into the SAP BusinessObjects products. SAP wants to hear your experience for in-product (and out-of-product) learning. Look at topics such as: What information do users need to get up and running quickly? What format do users need to consume online help to most easily find the answers to their questions? How can SAP provide products that reduce the need for training? How does SAP address the information needs of different audiences for our products and where can they have the most impact?
This council invites YOUR input on a survey that is running through September 30th: https://www.sapsurvey.com/cgi-bin/qwebcorporate.dll?idx=N692QQ
