It’s that time of year again.  Summer is over and that always means one thing… it’s time for TechEd. All of the telltale signs are here - the kids are back in school, camping season is over (at least for me) and the weather here in Canada has started to cool down a bit. I am certainly not a fan of the cooler weather and am looking forward to the nonstop sun in the desert. Of course, TechEd being what it is, I don’t expect to actually see the sun (at least not the real one), but here is what I am looking forward to most.

First, I am excited to get a chance to talk to you in person. I’ll be surveying customers and partners to gather insight into the topics that you want to hear about here on this blog and in our monthly Mobile Sense Webcast Series. If you’ll be onsite, find me in the Test Drive area or the Expert’s Area to take the survey (and take home a small gift).

Second, I am eager to share with you some SAP mobility product news and fantastic breakout sessions.  We’ve got some press releases coming out about enhancements to our developer tools and I think you’ll be impressed with the mobile apps that we’ve been working on this year. Be sure to see the demos in the Test Drive area and catch the breakouts on Sybase Unwired Platform and Afaria. Also note that you can go to any Sybase TechWave sessions as well.

In addition, I am looking forward to launching the second season of the “Mobile World of SAP” podcast. While at TechEd, I’ll also be interviewing you and other mobility experts to provide your opinions for upcoming episodes of the podcast. If you missed season 1, I encourage you to join myself and Sami Lechner for season 2. It’s just about to get under way, and I’ll be share the link here soon.  In this season we’ll discuss the things that you want to hear about – both SAP mobility products and overall industry trends. Through this blog, I’ll be seeking your opinions on issues and during each show we’ll talk about the things that keep you up at night. Occasionally I’ll ask “Speakers Corner” questions right here. I’d like to collect your thoughts and opinions on a wide variety of topics.

Finally, for those of you who will not be at TechEd, I’ll be sharing some of the great mobility news in this blog. So stay tuned!
