The latest SAP Developer Network Newsletter highlighted a recent article by SAP Performance and Scalability Team member Tobias Kutning about the server power standard application benchmark. (Article page here, PDF of article here.)

"The key performance indicator of the SAP server power standard application benchmark is the power efficiency value, represented as watts per kilo SAPS (watts/kSAPS), or the amount of watts that are consumed per 1,000 SAPS. Here, a smaller value equals less power consumption for the defined load and, as a result, greater energy efficiency."

The article features a case study of use of the power standard application by Fujitsu, with facts and figures about what Fujitsu found.
