SAP TechEd may have snuck up on you. Maybe you have been promising yourself that you would get ready one of these days. With TechEd US right around the corner, I'd suggest that it's a good time to start thinking about your agenda. Whether security and compliance is your full time focus or something that is just part of your work scope, I think you will find lots of great learning opportunities again this year. The special thing about SAP TechEd in Las Vegas is that, once again, ASUG has collaborated with SAP to provide customer-led content so that you can learn from SAP customer successes and challenges, in their own words.
Let's get one thing out on the table right up front: there are no hands-on sessions on SAP GRC 10.0 scheduled for SAP TechEd this year. It's not exactly a surprise; this release just went into general availability a few weeks ago, long after the sessions for this year's conference were planned. However, there is still plenty of learning available to you. You can plan on learning about GRC10.0 and other hot topics. Here are some of the highlights this year's agenda has in store.
1. SAP GRC 10.0 - Yes, despite the absence of hands-on sessions, there is a good variety of educational content on GRC 10.0.When planning your agenda, look for these sessions:

SCI204 | Integration of SAP Applications with SAP BusinessObjects GRC 10.0 |
SCI213 | Customer Experience: Migration Process from GRC 5.3 to GRC 10.0 |
SCI214 | SAP GRC 10.0 Architecture, Implementation, and Upgrade |
2. SAP Identity Management 7.2 - This year's education program offers both lectures and hands on sessions on SAP Identity Management. If this solution is in your future, consider these sessions:

SCI263 | Best Practice: Tracing and Debugging in SAP NetWeaver Identity Management 7.2 |
SCI265 | Initial Configuration of SAP NetWeaver Identity Management 7.2 |
3. Expert Networking sessions - These sessions are great opportunities to network with other security and compliance professionals, pick up some new tips and share some tips and tricks of your own. These sessions are facilitated by TechEd speakers, SAP Mentors, personnel from SAP's Regional Implementation Group, and other community leaders. Keep your eye out for these sessions, which are expected to be available in the agenda planner very soon, including these on security:
Security in SAP products, Identity Management & Single Sign On
SAP Security and GRC open forum
4. Security for new SAP solutions - If any of these technologies are in your future, you will want to be sure to include these sessions in your agenda.

5. Security Influence Council Update - Maybe you have heard about ASUG's Influence Councils and wondered what it was all about. This Influence Council kicked off last summer and has been busy working on recommendations to enhance and improve the usability of a wide range of SAP solutions. Come to this session to learn about progress made and improvements that are under development, including Notes to be released later this year.
