I must confess I hear the words “Last Chance” and I think of the old song by the group Shooting Star  (from my home town in Kansas City, Missouri).

However it is really your last chance to join the ASUG BusinessObjects Online and In-Product Education Influence Council.  Express your interest to participate here.  The survey deadline isMonday, 8/22.

So what would you be influencing?   From the August 8th presentation by SAP’s Megan Mittler, who is Knowledge & Learning Manager for BI Suite Product Management: “This influence council is for SAP Business Objects customers who want to extend the knowledge reach of Business Intelligence to all information workers. This council will focus specifically around how to improve the customer experience for in-product and online learning."

You will be influencing this: “Official Product Tutorials – SAP BO BI Suite Official Product Tutorials – SAP BO BI Suite Official Product Tutorials – SAP BO BI Suite (see Figure 1) are online eLearning tutorials hosted within the SAP Community Network, accessible to anyone with internet access and also linked in-product from Start Pages and Help Menus (see Figure 2).” Source: August 8th ASUG Webcast, SAP.

What is the goal of this ASUG Influence Council?

The charter of this group is to "reduce barriers to user adoption as it relates to learning SAP BusinessObjects products, focusing on in-product and online learning", according to the Council Charter.

What are the objectives for this Influence Council?

According to the Council Charter, an objective is to "assess the benefits/impact of the SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 tutorials" shown in Figure 1 above.    The Influence Council will “influence” areas where gaps exist for ease of use and knowledge management (for tutorials and documentation).  The Council will help form relationships between SAP customers and those working in SAP’s in-product education/documentation to allow for direct feedback and interaction.

What areas should a potential Influence Council Participant have experience in?

If you have any experience in the below areas in Figure 3 below, then please consider applying to join this ASUG Influence Council.

The typical time commitment for an Influence Council is 1-2 hours per month.  Can’t join this council but you want to know what is happening with it?  Then join Megan Mittler and SAP Mentor Derek Loranca at the ASUG BusinessObjects User Conference in October for an update on this Influence Council:
