Some of you might say that TechEd Demo Jams are kind-of always the same… but I can assure you that this year will be different!  I have been a fan of TechEd Demo Jams since I joined SAP (years ago…). This year is my second year leading the TechEd Demo Jam selection committee (an honor!) and between 2010 and 2011 I witnessed a nice evolution. 2011 got almost half submissions coming from non-SAP employees (38 out of 88 submissions!). Doesn’t it feel good? I hope that such trend is here to stay, as clearly Demo Jam is not meant to be an internal SAP showcase… This year submissions came from all over the world. All five continents were well represented. But the most refreshing was that this year 10% of all submissions were made by women! All of us know that there are plenty of fantastic women in SAP Ecosystem. Who does not want to see them on stage? Those who know me know I much I believe in the Embracing Inclusion – Driving Innovation : An Introduction, including gender diversity, for better innovation. Topic wise, with SAP having broadened its technologies and platforms, with Mobility, On Demand and In Memory, this year offered very novel submissions going well beyond what I saw before. Submitters got very creative with the technologies they used and integrated. Many times, all of us in the selection committee were “wowed” by the creativity of some demos! Last but not least this year Demo Jam competitions will have the InnoJam winning teams on stage together with the finalists selected from the online submissions! All in all you can’t miss this year Demo Jam competitions, starting with TechEd Las Vegas Demo Jam on September 13th!

      Hi Gregor
Yes this is the plan but I will let the MC make the final decision. He will attend the InnoJam presentations at the end of the InnoJam event. In other words the winner needs to help me to convince him 🙂

          Hi Gregor.
Stupid me using acronyms… Sorry. MC means Master of Ceremony. Craig was our MC until last year. This year it will be Ian Kimbell, whom you might already know 🙂
