Caboodle – Part 10 – Dashboard Install

Continuing from my previous blog, Caboodle – Part 9 – Crystal Reports 2011 & Enterprise Install

Here I download and install the BOBJ4 Dashboard, aka Xcelsius.

Currently on SP2 Patch 3, however, I will use the SP2 for a new installation, here.

Am quite happy to say that this was a seamless installation.

Adobe Flash Player and Excel are important prerequisites, which I already had installed (Flash v10, and Excel v2010).

For a new instalaltion, from the SMP

Software Downloads->BusinessObjects Downloads->Browse the SAP  BusinessObjects Portfolio->Installation and Upgrade->SBOP DASHBOARDS (XCELSIUS)->SBOP DASHBOARDS 4.0->Installation and  Upgrade->WINDOWS

or if you are upgrading from a previous version, from the SMP

Software Downloads->BusinessObjects Downloads->Browse the SAP  BusinessObjects Portfolio->Support Packages and Patches->SBOP  DASHBOARDS (XCELSIUS)->SBOP DASHBOARDS 4.0->Comprised Software Component Versions->SBOP DASHBOARDS 4.0->Windows Server on IA32 32bit

After extracting the downloaded file/object “51041024”, I ran the “setup.exe”, found in the directory

I kept the default setup language

All prerequisites are good

License stuff

I now know, because I already have BOBJ4 installed, the destination folder is disabled

User Info and Keycode stuff

I kept the defaulted language pack

“Custom” for demonstration purposes

“Disk Costing” for demonstration purposes

I selected the all components

Now installation is ready

Off it goes

10 minutes later

On the desktop, two new icons

A look at Windows Start->All Programs

A look in Windows Control Panel->Programs and Features

That’s it. All nicely installed

I started the Dashboard Design program from the desktop

Some Live Office message. Please read elsewhere for more information.

Finally to the Dashboard initial screen

All done.
