Influencing SAP’s integration focus areas
Over the years, SAP has been working on several integration options/technologies to make it easier for our customers to access data from or connect with their SAP landscapes, examples being:
- SAP NetWeaver Process Integration
- Enterprise Services Workplace (ES Workplace)
- SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (SAP NetWeaver BPM)
- SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment (SAP NetWeaver CE)
Yet, integration remains a big issue and cost driver for most companies.
As technology innovations like cloud computing, social networking and mobile computing become more mainstream for businesses, IT is faced with the challenge of securely connecting several systems within and outside their traditional IT boundaries.
We are interested in understanding which type of integration scenarios are most common, which technologies and tools are mostly used (e.g. Enterprise Services, Web Services, ALE/iDOC, RFC/BAPI, EDI, File Transfer, REST, CRM/BDoc, APO CIF or others) and of course, which are the main pain points customers are facing today with the existing technologies.
With this survey on integration needs we would like to get your feedback on which integration areas SAP needs to focus on to help our customers benefit from the value delivered by these innovations.
