Enhanced feature and new feature in the data flows of BI 7.3

In the Modeling functional area of the Data Warehousing Workbench, you can use a graphic to display the data flow of objects in BW. This illustrates the connections and dependencies between individual objects. They can be called for Info Areas, Info Providers, aggregation levels, Info Sources, open hub destinations, and Data Sources. In addition, you can show runtime objects such as Info Packages and data transfer processes. You can call the context menus of the Data Warehousing Workbench for the displayed objects and rules, and then change or extend an existing data flow using the data flow display.

1.Enhanced feature of display data flow in BI 7.3

Display data flow: In BI7.0 we can view the “display data flow” for objects like: Data source/Info Source/Data store object/Infocube/InfoObject/Infoset/Multiprovider/Aggregation Level/ Infoarea.

Navigation : RSA1à Select any Data targetà Select “ display data flow” in the context menuà Click on “ADD” buttonà Select F4 function of “Object type”

2.  New data flow creation [ new feature in BI7.3]:

How to create data a flow and its features are very well explained by “Michael te Uhle” in his blog “BW 7.30: Graphical Data Flow Modeling”. Please refer this blog for more details on new data flow concept.
