This article at Environmental Leader promotes an upcoming webinar on corporate sustainability reporting. (Wednesday 2011 July 20 0800 PDT) We at HaraBara and KloudData think green data management will be a major area of growth for IT in the future, and corporate sustainability reports are an important part of that growth.
The presenters will argue the benefits that firms can enjoy from sharing information about their sustainability performance with stakeholders, including the public. SAP feels strongly about this, and has an exemplary sustainability report of its own. Of course it also provides tools to manage sustainability data and prepare such reports. I presume these tools will be mentioned in the webinar, since Neil Krefsky, Marketing Director of Sustainability Reporting and Analytics Solutions at SAP, is one of the presenters.
“Learning Points” from the event’s registration page:
- Gain an understanding of the tangible business benefits of sustainability disclosure
- Understand the best practices, guidance and support CDP and GRI provide organizations to help make sustainability reporting a value based standard practice
- Hear how SAP software can enable better and more efficient sustainability disclosure and analysis
Sounds interesting to me–I’ll be listening in. I’ll be interested to learn more about how the Carbon Disclosure Project and the Global Reporting Initiative fit together.
