Yes, it’s time again. It feels like I just wrote a post about the Innovation across all areas, that’s Feature Pack 2.6 of Business ByDesign yesterday, but it’s nearly 4 months ago already.
And therefore it’s time again to give a quick insight into what’s new in Feature Pack 3.0.
First of all: No, FP3.0 is not available yet to new customers but we expect this to happen shortly. Existing customers will be upgraded automatically later this year.
Now to the facts:
- Gold Reflection Theme
We completely changed the visual design of the solution. Everything looks more modern and it’s aligned with SAP’s overall visual design now including the main colors of all our solutions: Black and gold.
But don’t worry: Existing customers will be able to keep their existing blueish design unless they want to opt-in. The coolest thing about the new design is that you can personalize it. You can add your own background picture or – if you like – change each color manually to the pinkiest solution you’ve ever seen. - Country support
Again we added some new countries. Now we also localized our solution for Mexico and Australia. - Business Scenarios
ByDesign now also includes customer contract management and other new scenarios such as Order-to-Cash (Third-Party Order Processing – Materials). - Application functionality
Last but not least each application added lots of new stuff. If you are a customer or partner I encourage you to have a detailed look at the Feature Pack 3.0 What’s New documents here. Just to mention one examples: In case a user is authorized for creating sales orders in the browser, he now is also automatically allowed to do this on our mobile apps. This was a manual step in the past.
