In CNBC interview (http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000024763, the interview starts at 1m30s), Bill McDermott, SAP AG Co-CEO stated SAP follows 3 big trends when he was asked the secret behind SAP’s incredible YTD performance(SAP stock up 20%+ YTD). Three big trends he mentioned are:
- Mobility
- Big Data
- Cloud
Even though he meant HANA/In-Memory as solution to solve Big Data trend, I’m convinced we could – between now and when In-Memory DB becomes widely available- implement 10+ years old DB concepts to manage Very Large DataBases(VLDB) and solve immediate performance problems.
On July 15th, let us discuss one of those concepts in Chicago. Remember a bird in hand is better than two in bush!
