Social Media team

Thanks to the fantastic Social Media team with Arianna Galbiati, Elena Vitali, Sarah Goodall and fellow SAP Mentor natascha.thomson/blog, I attended to the SAP World Tour 2011 Milan as Social Ambassador and it has been amazing. In add I recruited two special and crazy colleagues such as Luca Grilli and Ivan Femia to help me proving “eyes and ears” for those who couldn’t attend and we reported live from the show with an overall of 117 Tweets with over 30,000 impressions and 291 impressions per Tweet.

Meeting the executives

As Social Ambassador and SAP Mentor I got the chance to meet in person with Franck Cohen President of SAP EMEA and obviously it has been the most exciting moment.

Friendly we started talking about the SAP Community Network (SCN) with its impressive numbers that include 2 million members, a million unique visitors per month and 5,000 contributions per day. Proud wearing my Mentor T-Shirt I shared my personal experience with the initiative and I saw turning on a light in Franck’s eyes.

Franck is an open minded executive with a superior passion into his work and we planned to establish a stable direct link between him and the European SAP Mentors. He’s intrigued about our famous honest feedbacks and he’s determined to share his vision and strategic messages.

When speaking about SAP ByDesign markets, Franck Cohen fascinated me. There are lot of differences between US, China and the European countries.

In Europe, as you know, SAP ByDesign is currently available in Germany, UK and France. But in Europe business is often spanning country boundaries and Franck is perfectly aware of the importance to extend the product coverage supporting as much European countries as possible and especially my beautiful Italy.

Networking with italian peers

After meeting the executive I spent the day mostly in networking with peers inviting people to host sessions at the first Italian SAP Inside Track , that will be kept on October, 8th in Milan.

Social Media material and results

In the meantime two crazy guys were jumping from a breakout session to the other shooting photos, recording videos and realizing a super job in tweeter.

Ivan, the author of the Top 15 Most Popular SCN Blogs of 2010 and head of the abap2xlsx community project, collected a nice timeline and even more, he already posted in SDN his excellent blog The specified item was not found. full of great pictures. It contains everything about the great day, the best SAP Italian event of the last five years.

Luca Grilli, our Sybase SUP Guru, demonstrated a talent in tweeting and in recording videos. Do not miss his tweeter timeline, it is pure art.

Even better is the Podcast that Luca is publishing in our TechedgeGroup iTunes channel. Today it should be published.
