Not long ago, SAP StreamWork celebrated it’s one year birthday.  There was no cake and ice cream nor was there a candle to blow out.  What there was instead, was a feeling of shared accomplishment by all involved with the project.  During those early steps StreamWork immediatley began to walk the walk.  The Product Manager and Developers set large milestones for their little baby.  Now a full year later,  SAP StreamWork has sprinted ahead of its social peers and has grown to be at the top of its class as an Enterprise class social tool.

The concept was easy; provide a significant collaberation tool to ease the decision making processes of today’s business.  Added to that via the various growth sprints, was a social aspect allowing collaberators to chat, follow their colleagues actions, and share documents and media.  The “People” tab provides users with an intuative interface to search for potential collaberators as well as a graphical depiction of the relationship between participants.  StreamWork is growing at an incredible rate.  3rd party partners have integrated their offerings into StreamWork and the customer base itself has directed the path that StreamWork is following.  The Feedback tab, allowing users to submit their ideas and enhancemnet requests has played a large part of how the product has been growing.

Another way StreamWork has grown was presented with the rollout of the StreamWork Enterprise Agent or SEA.  The SEA allows an organization to manage their users by provisioning accounts from their LDAP or Active Directory deployments.  More advanced security and integration with other Enterprise tools are just but a few advantages of deploying the StreamWork Enterprise Agent.  More can be found here:

Much can be said about the proud parents of StreamWork.  The passion to raise their little baby to be a product that can provide so much to today’s world is unsurpassed.  It happens that StreamWork was not born a “gifted” child, but rather has great parents.
