If you are visiting the Sapphire Now and ASUG Annual conference in May in Orlando, Florida, you’ll have the chance to engage with BBA directly. Most BBA team members will be at this conference and we are very excited to host the ASUG Influence Council: SAP Guidelines for Best-Built Applications. It will take place on May 17th, 2011 from 1:45-2:45 pm, session no. 4107.

All ASUG SAP Partner and Customer members are cordially invited to join this council. We’d like you to share your experiences of developing for SAP environments and how BBA can help you with this important aspect of using SAP’s products: they are extensible and customizable through your own development to adjust to your individual needs or to realize your own application ideas. We at SAP are most interested to learn about how you use BBA as part of your development governance processes, so that we can ensure BBA is focused on your evolving needs.

The council session will be very little PowerPoint and lots of discussion. To help attendees prepare, we have already held 2 ASUG webinars and the recordings are available on the ASUG website:

Be sure to stop by the Partner Discussion Tables on the Partner Campus at the conference to learn more about the guidelines and speak with one of our team members.

You might have heard that BBA is written to advise SAP’s Partners. This is just part of the story as starting in 2011 we are extending BBA’s reach also to SAP’s customers’ development organizations. This was frequently requested and most of the guidelines we published really apply to both customers’ and partners’ development alike. You can find the first changes for including customer aspect in the newly revised chapters 1 through 3 of our BBA book, published on our http://bestbuiltapps.sap.com/ website.  A revision of the other chapters for including the customer perspective will follow throughout this year.

We look forward to meeting many of you at our Influence Council session.  See you in Orlando!
