In mid-April, SAP Research unveiled its latest living lab: the Future Energy Center. Located in Karlsruhe, Germany, the center is a collaborative platform demonstrating how the future of sustainable energy generation, distribution, storage, and utilization can be supported by innovative IT. The FEC provides a showroom with hands-on research prototypes and demo installations highlighting innovative research results in the areas of energy management, resource management, electric mobility, and smart grids. Visitors can experience these topics from different perspectives, such as a production site, an office, a utility control room, a home, and an electric car.
