Werner Daehn, SAP BusinessObjects Data Services guru (seriously, "guru" isn't strong enough) has just published an excellent chapter in the Data Services Tips and Tricks wiki regarding performance. Highlights include:
Highlights:
The idea of the performance testing was to implement a realistic scenario, execute it on different environments and keep track of the resource utilization. As an realistic source we were looking for a transactional system and decided to use the TPC-C benchmark data model as this is an official and well adopted example of an OLTP system. Using DataServices we read that data, apply typical transformations and load it into a Star Schema data model which is common for Data Warehouses.
It is a wiki. That means you can participate! Run one Data Services job and tell us the benchmark result. Details on the specific job to be run and compared are in this BusinessObjects Board posting, also from Werner.
