After holding my keynote at the VNSG Developer Day 2011, an event organized by the Dutch SAP User Group, I talked with the organizers of the event and with some community members I met during my Code Exchange presentation at the SAP Inside Track 2010 in Eindhoven.

We mainly talked about the SAP InnoJam event series that we started last year as “Innovation Weekends” and the possibility of having such an event in the Netherlands, too.

To make it short: everybody got excited about the idea and now we have it fixed.

The first SAP InnoJam in the Netherlands will happen from Jun 24th-25th in the SAP offices in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. We will share with you the details soon, but for the beginning we’d like to ask all of you who are interested in being at this event to propose interesting business cases.

Therefore we’ve setup an Idea Place session for the SAP InnoJam in ‘s-Hertogenbosch to let you enter your proposals for business cases we should use during the event to see how we can make prototypes to support these business cases by using SAP technologies.

Right now we are looking into the technologies we want to present at the InnoJams, but it looks like it will be mostly around the “On-Demand” topic (more details to come soon).

So to all the Dutch SAP community members (and of course all the others) interested in being at the event: don’t hesitate and send out these business cases to make this event as successfull as possible for you.

As we want to have a rough idea how many of you want/can/will participate, it would be ideal if you just add your name to this form to pre-regsiter to the event. This helps us a lot to organize the event.

Best,
Rui on behalf of the SAP InnoJam team

Great, I can’t wait. This is once again going to be a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience with innovative technology. Especially the On-Demand topic has been on my wish list for a while.
Here’s the mix of technologies I’d like to see at this event:
    – SAP River for edge innovation in the cloud with back-end access via Atom
    – By Design for On-Demand with optional On-Premise integration
    – Gateway to open up ABAP backends and empower them to expose Atom feeds
    – leightweight mobile apps (I work with Android) to access it all
    – BI On-Demand
    – a cloud-based Java/Python app server such as the Google Apps Engine
