A first look at SAP’s new Collaborative Process Modeling Tool

SAP has just started the beta program for its Collaborative Modeling Tool – aka Gravity – and you’ve gotten the How to get access to the new SAP StreamWork tool for modeling process flows – now let’s see what you can do with the this new tool.

This video shows some of new functionality – I’ve concentrated on the informal process modeling that business users – regardless of their level of expertise – can perform in a collaborative setting.  I like this form of modeling – you can create / explore without having to worry about making mistakes.

Two points about the video:

• The process validation is just for advanced users who intend to export the process model to other environments. All other users can just ignore it.  I just wanted to whet your appetites for future blogs.

• I’m modeling by myself – so you miss some of the cooler features associated with multi-participant collaboration

Upcoming blogs will concentrate more on the ability of the tool to do some heavy-duty process modeling with all the necessary bells and whistles (Export to NetWeaver BPM, BPMN-conform models, etc).
