On July 30, 2010, SAP AG announced the completion of the acquisition of Sybase, a partner and a market leader in managing, analyzing, and mobilizing business information. Through this transaction, SAP intends to accelerate the reach of SAP solutions across mobile platforms and drive forward the realization of SAP’s in-memory computing vision.

To that end, SAP Education North America is pleased to announce that Sybase hosted Mobility and Analytics classes are available on the SAP’s Training and Certification Shop.  SAP Education is not offering the full Sybase curriculum at this time but only the ones that apply to SAP.  Delivery formats available are public classroom and virtual live classroom as well as onsite and private events.   If interested, please use the links below to enroll or call the SAP Education Customer Interaction Center at 1-888-777-1727.

Hands-on labs will re-enforce the use of various SQL commands to build tables and load data into Sybase IQ tables, develop and execute stored procedures, create batches and write a variety of customized scripts. You will then create user defined functions and use OLAP principles to analyze data and Query Plans, all of which will help you understand how to evaluate your query performance and therefore determine ways to optimize badly performing queries. The goal is to identify ways of structuring and planning queries that will result in more effective and efficient SQL programming for Sybase IQ. The course will also cover an overview of Sybase PowerDesigner for modeling data warehouse databases with a focus on the SQL development related tasks and activities that a data warehouse SQL developer should know in order to make valuable contributions in a data modeling project team.
