This year SAP’s Developer Kick-Off Meeting (DKOM) started with an SAP internal InnoJam around the HANA Olympics. The olympics had been initiated by Vishal Sikka, member of the SAP Executive Board, to get innovative ideas around the usage of SAP’s In-Memory appliance HANA.

The olympics started with the collection of ideas around what could be done with HANA. SAP colleagues around the world submitted more than 600 ideas. These ideas were evaluated and out of the +600 ideas 48 ideas have been selected to participate during an InnoJam in one of four SAP locations. These locations were Bangalore, Palo Alto, Shanghai and Walldorf.

For the very first time also SAP Mentor Initiative were allowed to join the SAP internal DKOM. This also included the participation at the HANA Olympics InnoJam.

We’ve had very cool events at all four locations with 48 teams and more than 200 participants. At the end we’ve had at each location 3 winning teams that will now take the next step in the HANA Olympics: SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando.

To give you an impression about the HANA Olympics InnoJams I’ve attached below one video per location. Hope you like it.

    Hi Rui,

I’m just dropping by to say that the event was really cool and it’s been very worthwhile to get our hands dirty on NewDB. Thanks to having experts on site we had some great discussions.

Hat-tip to Karin and yourself for running this great event in Mannheim.

    Cheers,
    Matthias
