Moving to Jive – New Submission Process for Articles and Media Items from the community

As you all know SCN is in the process of the move to Jive.

As part of the move to Jive the process of uploading articles and Media items trough the  Content Submission System by the community members who are P and S users is going to change:

Today we are using a Content Submission System that requires both specific template and the review process by an expert which takes time…

In Jive we aim for the articles to be reviewed by the community and the space editors after the submission and make the process much easier and more users friendly.

What does it mean for you?

Starting Nov 7th we will stop receiving articles from community members and the link to the system will be closed.

Between November 7th and the launch there won’t be new articles submission due to the migration and the final stages of the move.

We are very excited about the new system and looking forward to even more contribution after the go live.

As you can see we went live today (March 12th) and to all those who comment on this blog asking when we go live and when they can get their article published the answer is now.

Go to create a documnet and there you can upload your very first Jive doc. The CSS submissions should be uploaded manualy by you as a jive doc.

***Please note this is only for articles and media items that are uploaded through the Content Submission System.  The community will continue to be able to post blogs, blog comments, forum threads, forum responses, and wiki updates throughout this period.

You must be Logged on to comment or reply to a post.
  • I have 2 articles waiting for approval, one submitted on 6.10, the other on 18/10. That means that SCN has still 6 days to review them or I’ll have to resubmit them, sometimes in the future … with luck I can resubmit them in december, meaning that they will be stuck for review another 3 to 4 weeks (go live, system down, panic, new review process won’t work immediately, you know … theory vs. real life).
Sad fact: at TechEd LV some attendees struggled with the problem I’m giving the solution in the article, and months later … It only can get better. It can’t be worse, right?

    • Hi Tobias,
The idea is that with Jive there won’t be a wait anymore as it will be submitted directly to Jive.
we are trying to improve the process and this is why Jive will make things much better.
    • I have submitted an article on 29/08/2011, but it has not moved from submitted stage.  Do I need to re-submit this article after migration?

      Regards, Vinod

    • Hi Yogesh,
Like I said in the blog, after the launch you will be invited to submit the article again but the review process in Jive will be diffent as part of our ongoing effort to improve the service to the community.

  • We have submitted an Article since 7/13/2011 10:43:21 PM for community consideration & perusal and it still shows in Submitted status. Can we expect any change in the status? In anticiaption.
    • Hi Nitin,
The launch will be on Dec 5th.
After the launch the new process will take place.
Please note that all the new procedures and processes will be comunicated in the next two weeks or so as we get closr to the go live date.
