Mobile World of SAP, intro
In this initial Podcast, Craig Cmehil and Sami Lechner introduce themselves and what they will be sharing in future podcasts with everyone in regards to the world of Mobile and what SAP and SyBase are doing today.
Feel free to pass along requests, feedback and comments for them as they will do their best to get you all the answers you need moving forward.
Season 1, Episode 1 – Introductions
A Great Start!!! Although its a bit late than I had expected, but better late than never.
I hope you guys should be able to provide light into lot of gray areas. I am particularly looking for the following answers:
1. Future of SAP and Partner products already available on NetWeaver Mobile. Will these have to be ported to SUP or will be supported standalone?
2. As on today Sybase charges for their development tools and SAP has never done so. So what's the new strategy here?
3. I know from the announcement that work is ON to develop a single mobile platform combining both SUP and NWM. However what time frame are we looking for the same and when it will be GA?
4. Till the time a new platform is available as GA, what should be the enterprise mobility strategy for customers partners developers looking to invest into mobility?
5. How will the new licensing model look after combining SAP End User, SUP and Sybase End User Licensing. Will it be really cost effective?
6. How will SAP provide Level playing field for other MEAP Providers and Middleware who have already invested in SAP before Sybase days
7. List of apps that SAP will be developing themselves so that partners and app developers do not waste time developing the same only to realize later they cannot sell it as something is available from SAP as standard
It will be really great if you guys can cover all/some of the topics that I discussed in the coming days
Thanks once again for this new series.
Regards,
Jai
Looking forward to the next installment.
We just finished a SAP/Sybase integration PoC for a large SAP customer in South Africa, hope to blog soon on some of the lessons learnt.
