I have received a few direct questions around what is new for SAP FSCM within Enhancement Pack 5. Whilst it is easy to point fellow consultants to the SAP Marketplace to review the SAP documentation I though it worth putting together a quick simple overview for those interested. This document is aimed at current SAP FSCM clients or those who are aware of the current functionality available up to Enhancement Package 4 and want to know what new functionality is available.

Please note there have been some significant developments within the integration to SAP CRM, however as not ALL clients who use SAP FSCM have or use SAP CRM, the new functionality developed within CRM has not been included.

The main areas are documented below with the associated benefits.

Credit Management without PI :  You can now implement SAP FSCM Credit Management without linking a SAP NetWeaver Process Integration. This reduces the hardware requirements when scoping a SAP FSCM Credit Management implementation reducing costs and maintenance.

Instalments for Promises to Pay : Within Collections Management the Promise to Pay process has been enhanced to allow the Credit Collections team the ability to break a Promise to Pay into agreed Instalments. Where a customer is having trouble paying outstanding debt the customer may suggest that the total debt is settled over a number of periods. This process provides the Credit Collection Specialist an option to record agreed payment instalments.

Correspondence and notes within Collections Management: Within the Collections Worklist, there is now the ability to generate correspondences direct from the Collections Worklist. This could include sending dunning letters direct from the Collections Worklist or customer statements. Further to this notes can be assigned at open item level within Collections Management, and a range of note types can be configured to record specific customer information. This provides the Credit Collections Specialist the ability to perform some previously manual tasks within Collections Management. Further to this, the ability to send Customer Statements or Dunning from the Worklist keeps the user within the worklist and stops the need to open new sessions to perform associated tasks.

Enhanced reporting within BI and Excelsius: SAP have delivered a number of standard reports for SAP FSCM within BI. The standard reports provide an extra level of standard functionality. This will reduce the volume of bespoke reports a client will need to write as they can use or amend the new standard content.
