Urban Management Demo Shows How SAP Is Helping Cities Run Safer

Check out the latest feature on the SAP Research page on SDN!

In a joint project, SAP Research, SAP Marketing Showroom and Trial Solutions have developed a demo to introduce an Urban Management Prototype based on SAP CRM. The underlying Urban Management platform can be used to call up different information and processing services via the Internet. These include, for example, digital maps, satellite images, and water levels, or information about public buildings and installations. In this way, the system will make it possible to collect and combine up-to-date information from different sources and systems.

The Urban Management prototype is a vision for the future and demonstrates how SAP solutions could help megacities in the future by addressing a broad range of security needs. In this respect, SAP Research is closely working together with the IBU Public Security and the field organization in order to bring innovations and solutions together.

In the event of an emergency situation, this urban safety platform approach ensures that citizens can be alerted early, agencies can be better prepared, and resource deployment can be more co-ordinated in order to accelerate community and business recovery.

Thanks for sharing. For me this information is quite challenging because of many reasons. This application shows the huge potential of SAP CRM. It is more than an application for contact management and campaigns. And then it is really inspiring for me as software architect.

I would love to read more about it.

      Best Regards,
