SAP CRM 7.0 EhP1 – Inbound Warranty Claim

I have created a little video demonstrating the capabilities of the Inbound Warranty Claim which has been delivered with SAP CRM 7.0 EhP1.

An inbound warranty claim represents the claim of an external service provider directed e.g. to an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for reimbursement of the costs which the service partner had when performing a service for an end customer of the OEM. The intended result of this process is a credit memo to the service provider.

The video shows a claim generated automatically from a service confirmation. But a claim could also be created manually, based on a service order, or independently of any preceding document.

    I have a client who is interested in this and i have two questions:

    - Can the channel partner login to SAP CRM using Partner channel management and create warranty claims?

    - Can Validations and business rules be built for inbound warranty claim similar to outbound warranty claims? I understand outbound warranty claims have a formula builder. Can that be used for Inbound warranty claims?

    - Any other non documented functionality that has been provided or anything else that is coming in the near future would be helpful.
