Innovations 2010 and SAP BusinessObjects = Embedded Analytics for SAP BusinessSuite Customers

Embedded Analytics as part of the SAP Business Suite 7 Innovations 2010 release is bringing great new integrations between your SAP Business Suite applications and the SAP BusinessObjects BI toolset to our customers and I would like to highlight some key integration points here.

Crystal Reports and ABAP List Viewer

With this release of Innovations 2010 our customers can now leverage Crystal Reports 2008 in combination with the ABAP List Viewer and use all their existing ABAP reports which are using the ABAP List Viewer and turn them with a simple click into a great compelling report designed with Crystal Reports 2008.

Instead of me going into a lot of details I thought I simple share a screencam and show you how easy this is.

Crystal Reports & Xcelsius and the Report Launchpad

The second great integration is the opportunity to now leverage Crystal Reports and Xcelsius based content as part of the Report Launchpad. With the Report Launchpad you can integrate all your favorite content in form of Crystal Reports and Xcelsius with your typical workflows and also share application context with your reports.

Xcelsius and Web Dynpro Flash Island

The third integration is already available for some time and is being used now as part of the BusinessSuite Innovation 2010 release and is the Xcelsius integration with the Web Dynpro Flash Island technology.

Here as well I think the best way to explain the possibilities is simply to show a screencam.

Here you can find a slide deck showing you further details on these great integrations.

      Hi Ingo,
This is what all users are waiting. I think if SAP has a smooth integration with Crystal all companies will use this functionality. But it's really important not to effort too much. Everybody likes using ALV based reports or inline/export Excel reports very well. I hope integration with Crystal is a well step to improve reporting.

      We all can't wait.

Thanks for the demos and slides - we heard about these features at SAP TechED 2010, but it's nice to see them in action.

I was very interested in this very subject, and already read all the presentations/documents.
Now this is an excellent addition, and it makes things much more clearer - and useful to demonstrate this functionnality during trainings and conferences 😉

customers need the SAP BusinessSuite Innovation 2010 release and for the Crystal Reports scenario for viewing the Crystal Reports Viewer for BusinessSuite and for Designer the Crystal Reports Designer.

For the Web Dynpro Integration the same requirement on the BusinessSuite side and then Xcelsius Designer.

Thanks. To dig just a bit deeper into the first scenario: are all required components included into BS Inno10 release to generate in-place Crystal reports? Is CR Viewer for BS an additional installation coming with SAPGUI?
We've been waiting for SBO to replace BW/BEx based SAP CRM Interactive Reporting. Does this day come with Inno10? Or are those from the blog still spot enhancements?
      Regards. -VR

      you need:
      - BusinessSuite Innovation 2010
      - Crystal REports viewer for BusinessSuite (separate installation)

and on the CRM side there is already Xcelsius and Web Intelligence integrated for a long time.
